SUBMIT A REVIEWI bought this helmet with my Ninja 250R last weekend. I have a somewhat more oval-shaped forehead than my friends, so the much-cheaper 3/4 helmets and somewhat-cheaper full helmets from other manufacturers just didn't fit well. They were all either too loose around my chin and the back of my head or too tight around my forehead. But this Arai helmet fits me perfectly! It's definitely a huge investment at almost $500, for sure, but for those of us with more demanding needs for a comfortable fit, it might be worth it to you. If I had to pick a draw-back, I suppose the rubber strip that is supposed to deflect your breath away from the face shield doesn't quite manage to keep the fog at bay most times, especially when you're riding slowly or stopped, which necessitates cracking open the face shield. It has a lot of strong points too though, namely how well it fits my head. It is a very lightweight helmet, and it also has a lot of vents to let in air. You can indeed feel the air flow when the vents on the top and back are open, and when you're not stopped at a light, the vent on the chin works pretty well to to de-fog the helmet fast and provide some additional air flow across the nose and lips. To sum up, if you have more of an oval-shaped head and a few extra bucks to spare for a helmet with a really good fit and vents that work well to keep your head cool, this one is a great choice.
Proper helmet fit ensures maximum protection in a helmet. Arai Profile helmets fit riders whose heads are longer and have features that may hit visors or chin guards on other helmets. Laminate fiberglass construction reduces overall helmet weight without sacrificing impact and abrasion resistance. Ventilation from upper intakes flows out through four ports, two up top and two down low, for excellent cooling. Molded ridges along the chin bar to enhance airflow in a way that reduces wind buffeting. Removable and washable, interior panels can be changed for a different size to provide a personalized fit. Arai has taken great interest in making helmets to fit each individual rider. Their Profile is another great example.
