The FS-2 shell covers the ears and is still considered a half helmet. Cooling from the flow through design keeps temperatures under control. If temperatures drop down, put in the zippered flaps to protect ears from the wind chill and noise. Take the helmet for a cruise to the local hang out or down to the coastline for a clear view of the ocean.
