SUBMIT A REVIEWThe Multitec is one of Shoei’s high-end offerings on the large and ever expansive helmet market. With Shoei’s typical attention to detail and high-quality, bordering on OCD on making their products “the best", the Multitec is a flip-up helmet worth checking out. First, the helmet has a very modern look thanks to molded curves that accent the sides and rear of the helmet. The curves also help facilitate better air flow. And there are attached gaskets to the side of the helmet to help lessen wind noise (but still wear ear plugs when wearing a helmet). And the Multitec’s shell is constructed using several layers of fiberglass coupled with other high-performance organic fibers with an end result of a lightweight feeling shell that is rigid yet has the versatility of being flexible in the name of comfort. An easy to use venting system that moves to the rear of the helmet to unveil two vent holes on either side and one vent toward the rear of the slider. But the real goodie on the helmet is the metal latch system they use on the visor. This system locks the visor in place and the helmet closed. Using a metal latch, it promises to be sturdier than a standard plastic latch. And, it being a Shoei product, you know it’s going to have a nice look to it for those fashion plates driving up and down the road.
