It lends its use as a four-season jacket as the liner is removable and the perforations get the air flowing to stop heat build up and keep you from sweating. Great jacket! I have had this jacket for 3 years and wear everyday on my commute to work (Tokyo). Fell once going around a corner (black ice), slight scratches (wish I could say that for my bike) but protected me very well. Cons: Foam back protector; recommend replacing with more ridge protector.
