- Special bedding process required for optimum performance
- Bedding-In Procedure:
- Clean existing used brake rotor using eg. Emery paper #150 to remove existing debris on the brake rotor
- Install brake pads based on OEM guidelines
- Perform a series of gentle braking operations until brake pad is in full contact with the brake disc surface
- After the braking operations are performed as outlined, perform a series of short braking operations building up heat into the brake discs and brake pads until a thin dull, black, dark blue layer of friction material is present on the entire pad surface of the brake rotor(s)
- Allow the brake rotor(s) and brake pads to cool
- Perform a few laps gradually increasing braking power and building up heat in the brake pads and brake rotor(s)
- Please note: Bedding-In procedure NOT necessary if existing brake rotor(s) is already covered with Vortex SRC friction material. New SRC brake pads on those rotors only need 1 or 2 laps to be in full contact of the entire brake pad to rotor surface. DO NOT clean brake rotor(s) after they are covered with Vortex SRC friction material.
