Review for River Road Womens Cruiser Leather Jacket
This jacket is pretty true to size. I bought one size up from my normal size. I'm quite large chested and found I could easily fit a couple of layers under it if necessary, but even with just the one layer it still fits well. You can definitely see I'm a woman and not just a leather blob on a bike. The adjustable waist is super handy to adjust the sizing and uses incredibly strong velcro to keep it in place.
The lining is removable, which is great since I live in a warmer climate. There is an internal pocket in the lining that will fit a quite large phone, plus crazy large cover> Not only that you can then push your phone right around to the side of your chest , so you don't look like a freak with a rectangle where no rectangle should be! I was really surprised at the depth of this pocket. It didn't have a zip so I thought it would be useless at first, but instead it's perfect.
The vents work exceptionally well when opened - better than my textile jacket by a long way. I wore this on a 28 degree day (err...82ish Fahrenheit) in our winter recently and it still felt lovely and breezy when I was moving.
One slight downside is that the cuffs are quite tight even when unzipped. It is a hard task to get my current gloves (summer weight with about 3 inches of material extending from the hand to cover the wrist, secured by 2 Velcro straps) done up and pushed under the cuffs. Love the jacket, so the gloves are being replaced with much, much shorter ones!
The other slight downside is that the collar feels a little constricted against my helmet. Not enough to stop me from wearing it, or even to annoy me really, but I do notice it.
The jacket comes with EVA/foam armour at shoulders, elbows and back. The great thing is that all of these can be replaced with better armour, should you wish.
It's heavy, so heavy. I know I'm wearing it when I'm off the bike because I can feel it. All 3.1kg (7ish pounds) of it. However for genuine, thick leather plus armour, it's to be expected.
